Introduction
When you meet someone for the first time, you have to make a good impression. So, you have to know what to say. You also have to know what you can't do. Today, you are going to practice introducing yourself. Preparation: 1. Write down the most important facts about yourself like name, the place where you live, age, profession etc. 2. Look at the list that your neighbour made. Maybe you can add some things to your list now. 3. Look up the correct sentences for introducing yourself and practice with you neighbour. Make two lists now: •One list with all the things you want to say when you meet someone privately; •Another list with all the things you are going to say in a business situation. What's different? Talk about the differences between introducing yourself in a private situation and in a business situation. Assignment: 1. Ask your neighbour (another one!) about his personal info like name, address, profession, age etc. 2. Write short notes. 3. Now, your group/class is going to sit or stand in a large circle. You are going to introduce each other to the group. 4. Your teacher appoints the first person to introduce 'his' class mate. When he is finished, his partner is going to do the same for the first student. The person, who talked last, is going to appoint the next student. |
