- Discuss this in class.

Preperation
- Make a telephone list of the entire class. Everybody's phone number should be on it. It should be someone's job to decide who is going to call whom.
- Now everybody is going to prepare a call: look up and write down what you need to say to start a telephone conversation.
- Acting out the call: the first person on the list is going to call the second person. Use the right words and sentences to introduce yourself and to tell the other person what you are calling about. The person receiving the call should answer in the right way.
- Now, prepare a complete telephone conversation. There are different subjects listed below.
- Discuss what went well and what needs to be improved.
Subjects:
- Call your office to tell your boss that you're ill.
- You ordered some items for your office. You are calling to ask when you can expect your order.
- You are calling a restaurant to make a reservation.
- You are calling a hotel to cancel a reservation.
- You are going to make an appointment with your dentist.
- Call your garage to make an appointment for repairs.
- Call your mother to tell her that you will be late for dinner.
- Call your friend and ask him/her out.
- You are calling a class mate to ask a few questions about a subject that's difficult for you.
